Sixteen

you're 16 and you are powerless

you're like this little sprout of stem on a land of cold hard cement

trying to climb up to the sun's warm hugs

and you find it difficult because of all the buildings blocking your hopes

it's harsh world and you can't change it

and the worst part of it is

you're only 16 once

eventually you're never going to be the person that you were yesterday

you're going to be one of them

one of those grey colored people

waking up thinking everything's like that forever

you wake up you survive you sleep

and that's not living at all

being 16 is a blessing

you get to choose your path

you may be pulled down and torn apart

but it's life's way of making you stronger

fore there is more in life than bullshit

there is more to life than settling for less

don't do it for the money, do it for the love

a lot can happen when you're 16

you're half awake and almost there

this is your chance for change

for better or for worst that is your choice

just reinvent

10 years later you're going to think of this day

16 and powerless

and look where it's gotten you

did you make the right choice?
