If there's something out there that could teach me the true meaning of not giving up on anything that you love, it should be the Ginebra team. For the past two years I've been trying to get my hands on game tickets and fortunately, I finally got the much awaited chance. This team has been the first and last favorite team of mine ever since I started watching basketball.
I've been through hell just to claim these tickets on the game day itself. Little did I know that this will also be the last game that Ginebra will play on this conference. I've had such high hopes for this team this season because Tim Cone is finally their head coach, and the last game they played (Manila Clasico) was phenomenal. They were shooting three's during overtime--back to back I might add.
The hype I get whenever the crowd chants "GI-NEB-RA" on the stands still isn't gone. Again it was an amazing game, although it didn't end well. Globalport is a great team there's no doubting that, but the decisions made by the referees at the end of the game is really not out of question. You see there's still 11 seconds left when the ball posession was with Globalport, Ginebra's play is to give up a foul in order for them to get another posession even though there'll be only a couple of seconds left. Now this referee didn't call anything until the buzzer hit 0. Obviously on the replay there should have been a call. The reviews afterwards according to some articles I've read claim that there should have been a 5 second violation and ball-hogging.
Anyway, I wouldn't elaborate much on this catastrophe since it's over. Still, it was a perfect year ender. I still have high hopes for Ginebra next season!
